Dr. Helen Arabatzis

Dr Helen Arabatzis graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 1998. For the past 16 years, Dr Arabatzis has been mentoring and working alongside a team of practitioners, including eight dentists, four hygienists, and a visiting oral surgeon, centred in the vibrant and busy inner-Melbourne suburb of Brunswick.
Dr Arabatzis has a special interest in implantology and completed Surgical Levels 1, 2, and 3 with the Australasian Society of Implant Dentistry in 2001. She received further training in both the surgical and restorative aspects of implant treatment, as well as in soft tissue management, through Nobel Biocare and the Aesculap Academy at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
In 2006, Dr Arabatzis completed her training in NobelGuide with Dr Patrick Henry in Auckland and later undertook a mini-residency in Implant Dentistry at the Brånemark Training Centre in Marseille, France, under the supervision of Dr Patrick Palacci in 2008. She has also completed Modules 1, 2, 3, and 4 through the Implant Team Academy.
In 2009, Dr Arabatzis was a Nobel Biocare presenter for the Hands-On Implant Surgical Restorative Mentor Program. By this time, she had already built substantial experience in dental implants and decided to enhance her skills further by completing a Master’s program in Implant Dentistry with the GIDE Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is now part of the UCLA alumni group under the mentorship of Dr Sascha Jovanovic.
Having consolidated her knowledge and skills in oral implantology, Dr Arabatzis was drawn to the immediacy and success of the All-on-4® and All-on-4 Plus® concepts and undertook further advanced training under the mentorship of Dr Alex Fibishenko. Today, she continues to work closely with Dr Fibishenko on cases involving immediate full-arch replacement.
Dr Arabatzis is an active member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), the Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS), the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry (ASID), and the International Team for Implantology (ITI). With a special interest in facial aesthetics, she has further broadened her expertise by becoming a member of the Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA), focusing on cutting-edge advancements in botulinum toxin and dermal fillers to enhance complete dentoalveolar and facial aesthetics.
Dr. Camellia Yap

Dr Camellia Yap followed her father’s footsteps studying dentistry and graduated with honours from The University of Melbourne 2002. After working in Albury and Geelong for the first 3 years, Camellia decided to move back to Melbourne and has since been working at Brunswick Family Dental Surgery for 8 years. After 4 years of part time clinical demonstration at The University of Melbourne, Camellia has decided to concentrate on private practice, while bringing up a toddler. Camellia’s interests in dentistry include; endodontics, implant prosthodontics, adult orthodontics and paediatric dentistry. Camellia’s treatment philosophy emphasizes education and prevention and caters for the individuals special needs.
Camellia’s weekends include quality time with the family and their beloved dog and are all regularly found at the local dog parks or cafes. Her other interests include travelling, reading, swimming, bike riding and snowboarding.
Dr Lucy Brumer
BHSc (Dent), MDent (Latrobe), General Dentist
Dr Lucy Burumer holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry (2014) and a Master of Dentistry (2016), both from La Trobe University. These qualifications were earned over five years of full-time study, combined with extensive practical experience. Lucy enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular passion for both cosmetic and paediatric care. She is committed to personalising each patient’s experience and providing high-quality treatment in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Originally from country South Australia, Lucy now calls Brunswick home. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys cooking and travelling with her family.
Dr Kevin Nguyen
BDSc (Hons) Melbourne
Dr Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2011, and has been working in private practice since then. Kevin enjoys working with nervous patients who are terrified of going to the dentist. His calm demeanour, gentle hands and ability to explain treatments in an uncomplicated way puts his patients at ease in the dental chair, and allows them to take control of their fears and teeth again.
Kevin is passionate about minimal intervention and preventative dentistry, and believes in managing dental issues early before they can become long term problems. He has a special interest in oral surgery and wisdom teeth removal, but enjoys all other facets of general dentistry. He keeps up with the latest treatment options by attending multiple professional development courses annually.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys going to see live music and is a passionate Western Bulldogs supporter. He has also spent some time volunteering, having spent time in Cambodia and Vietnam providing dental treatment to disadvantaged children.
Dr Akram Abdullahi

Dr Akram grew up in Melbourne and completed both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees at the University of Melbourne. Akram has enjoyed working in rural and urban Victoria before joining the team at Brunswick Family Dental Surgery.
Dr Akram’s passion for health science and eye for creativity made dentistry the perfect profession for him. He is well known for his gentle chairside manner and fostering a relaxing environment (which works wonders for the anxious patients!). Being a former volunteer leader of Teddy Bear Hospital, Dr Akram has no troubles treating the younger population.
Dr Akram enjoys all facets of dentistry but takes particular interest in aesthetic dentistry .He is a member of the Australian Dental Association and regularly attends professional courses to ensure he delivers the most up to date treatments.
Outside of work, Akram loves spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys watching his beloved Essendon Bombers win premiership flags and going to the cinemas!
Dr Anjali Nathan

Anjali graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters in Dentistry. After working in the rural town of Ballarat and gaining much experience, Anjali is excited to return home to Melbourne and be closer to her family. As a member of the Australian Dental Association, Anjali is committed to ongoing education and is able to offer her patients the most up to date information and treatment options available. She has an interest in all facets of dentistry and has always been passionate about high quality care and helping her patients achieve a beautiful, strong and healthy smile.
Anjali strongly believes that dental treatment should be performed with patient comfort as a top priority and strives to minimise pain and discomfort for her patients. She values the importance of open communication and trust in relieving many of the anxieties that patients may feel about treatment, and takes the time to understand their main concerns.
Outside of dentistry Anjali loves hiking through Victoria’s gorgeous terrain, catching up with her friends and family, watching the latest flicks and exploring Melbourne’s food scene.
Dr Jennifer Lam

Dr Jennifer Lam graduated from La Trobe University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences and Master of Dentistry. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with particular interests in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and endodontics.
Jennifer has practised in rural and regional Victoria and has also volunteered her services in disadvantaged communities across Nepal, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
She believes in educating her patients about dental health and hygiene to help prevent disease from occurring or recurring. Her approach to care is tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring the most effective and personalised treatment.
Jennifer is committed to making every dental visit a pleasant and comfortable experience for patients of all ages—from children to adults.
Outside of dentistry, she enjoys hiking, knitting, and travelling the world.
Anna Tsougranis

Faye Luo
Oral Health Therapist
Faye graduated from University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2011. Since then she has been providing dental care in private practices in Melbourne.
Faye started working full time as an Oral Health Therapist at Brunswick in 2021. Her main areas of focus are periodontal and paediatric dentistry. She is passionate to utilise her skills and deliver high quality care. She believes in creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for all her patients.
Faye is a member of Dental Hygienist Association of Australia. She has completed Adult Restorative Course in 2023 to extend her scope of practice. Faye is also experienced in orthodontic therapy.
When not at work, Faye loves Pilates, snowboarding and cooking.
Carmen Cham
Oral Health Therapist
Carmen graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and has since been actively practicing in the Metro Melbourne area. She has expanded her skill set to offer comprehensive care for both adults and children, including dental examinations, restorations, and cleanings.
Carmen is particularly passionate about treating gum disease and is dedicated to ensuring her patients feel comfortable through her gentle and compassionate approach.
Maggie Du
Oral Health Therapist
Maggie graduated as an Oral Health Therapist from The University of Melbourne.
She is passionate about helping patients achieve optimum teeth and gum health especially through oral health promotion and preventative care. She particularly enjoys providing dental care for children and periodontal treatment for adults.
Maggie loves running, participating in fun runs and boxing. She is always on the lookout for musicals to attend and cafes to have brunch. Otherwise she likes baking in her spare time.
Joanne Whytrcross
All-On-4 Plus® Patient Co-ordinator
Jo has been working with Dr Helen for the past 25 years. She is our Senior Surgical Assistant and Patient Co-ordinator. She will guide you through the All-on-4 Plus® process and be by your side every step of the way. From your initial visit, you will be able to contact her directly if you have any queries or require guidance—she is always happy to help. Jo is also one of our senior surgical assistants and will be with you on the day of your surgery. She is passionate about forming strong, supportive relationships with every patient. Jo has completed multiple implant training courses over the years and is highly qualified in her role.

Dr. Daphne Chong

Dr. Daphne Chong graduated from the University of Melbourne with honours in 2011. She has recently transitioned from part time to full time here at Brunswick. Daphne enjoys all aspects of dentistry; especially prevention and helping patients understand the best ways of maintaining good oral health. To broaden her knowledge and expertise Daphne is constantly looking for ways to improve her dental knowledge which has lead her to attend many courses related to aesthetic restorative work and crowns and Bridges in dentistry. In her spare time she enjoys sourcing good coffee in Melbourne and has recently taken up cycling.
